“ We went there for happy hour and the selection of specials was amazing! We started out with some drinks. The Hibiscus Margarita is wonderful - sweet, fruity, and had a lovely presentation. The Olive Sangria tasted good and beautifully presented, but we thought a red wine with less oak flavor would be better paired with the fruits. Fresh pita bread was presented warm and puffed up. It was so satisfying tearing open the bread with a rush of warm air as it deflated. Our first appetizer was Hummus with Beef Shawarma. We had it once before at another restaurant and loved the pairing. The hummus is light, creamy, and not too lemony. The beef shawarma was juicy and paired well with the hummus. Our second appetizer was Buttermilk Calamari. The batter was perfectly crispy and blistered. The calamari inside was so tender. Finally, we ordered up 4 kabobs a la carte. The lamb kabob was tender, juicy, and flavorful. Seasoning enhanced the flavor of the lamb and grilled to a perfect rare. The kafta kabob (one of my favorites to order at mediterranean restaurants) was juicy and flavorful. The filet mignon kabob was tender, flavorful, and grilled to a perfect rare. The salmon kabob was succulent, flavorful, and gives “surf and turf” appeal. Service was amazing. The manager and service staff made us feel welcome and were so friendly. ”

“ A pretty restaurant for kabobs and grills. I had the hanging kabob which was very nice. It’s called king & queen and it’s 49. The steak cooked medium was really juicy and tender. Chicken was just right and not dried out. The fries at the bottom was also perfect. Totally love this dish! They have cocktails and many other drinks too. Nice service. I saw people celebrating birthday here and the servers were singing such a fun birthday song. ”
“ I came here with my mom to eat and both service and food were soooo good!! We both got a salmon ceviche and a Cesar salad. Both were amazing. I got myself a salmon kabob which were so good with the lemon. Topped it off with a glass of guava which I will be getting next time Shout out to our waitress who was super attentive when it came to drinks and plates!!! ”
“ The Olive Restobar in Downey serves tradition Mediterranean cuisine along with fusion dishes. The ingredients used are high quality. It's definitely an elevated dining experience. The tomato crostini is served on a grilled French baquette topped with mozzarella, tomato, artichoke hearts and basil pesto. Excellent appetizer bites. The falafel with house-made tahini is also a great choice. They have everything from filet mignon kabobs to grilled lamb chops and ribeye steaks. The staff is friendly and welcoming. They were able to answer my menu questions efficiently. The vibe is dope. Nice big full bar with crafted cocktails, wines and beer. The Lebanese mule is ! A must try if you want to have a crafted cocktail. The Happy hour menu has lots of options for both bites and drinks including 7 kabobs a lParking is plentiful. It's located in a large shopping center that has many other restaurants, bars, stores, etc. ”
“ We had a positive experience at this restaurant. The food was good, my husband ordered chicken kabob and i ordered the chicken shawarma. Everything got two thumbs up. To drink i had the what the fig, made with tequila and fig. ”
“ I just have to say wow, the chicken had unbelievable flavor! This was my first time here and everything was so good. Our Server Andrea was also the sweetest person, she made great recommendations and made us feel very welcomed like family. She recommended a fresh pineapple cucumber cooler and it was so refreshing! We started with a Mimosa Flight and lattes with adorable butterfly latte art The King’s Kabob stole the spotlight with its dramatic hanging skewer presentation. The Surf & Turf was my fav–the jumbo shrimp paired wonderfully with the creamy spiced mash Here’s what we ordered: Mimosa Flight Lattes (with butterfly latte art!) Cold Mezza Sampler – Hummus, spicy hummus, loaded labneh, yogurt & cucumber Crispy Cauliflower – Flash-fried with tahini Surf & Turf – Herb-crusted ribeye, grilled jumbo shrimp, spiced mash, veal demi-glaze King’s Kabob – Hanging ribeye skewers with garlic fries, grilled tomatoes, jalapeño, and chimichurri Baklava with Pistachio Ice Cream – Flaky pastry filled with crushed pistachios, lightly sweetened with syrup, and served with creamy pistachio ice cream ”
